Section G

Read the following passage carefully. Write your answers for questions 1 to 5 in complete sentences.

Barry took little notice of the new school near his home at first. However, when he overheard his parents saying he would study there when it was completed, he decided to check out the place with Ray, his best friend.

"What's that?" Barry asked as he poked at a brick with his fingers. Suddenly it slipped partly out from the wall. One strong pull and it was in his hands. "They've forgotten to put the cement round this one," Barry said, laughing. "I told you it was no good," said Ray. I bet you the whole structure will fall down in a few years."

"It would be a perfect hiding place for messages," said Barry. "I agree. Let's leave a message for the school and the new Principal!" Ray said excitedly. "What shall we say?"

"You thought the school might fall down one day so we could leave a warning about that. Since a lot of words will be spoken in this school, especially by the Principal, let's say that it will fall down after he has spoken a million words," Barry suggested. "Good idea," agreed Ray. "But we won't make the message easy to read. Let's put in code." He started writing the message in block capital letters: ENWH ETH INCIPALPR FO ISTH HOLLSC SHA...

When the whole message was finished, they looked at it with pride. Then Barry folded the paper and placed it into the hold where the brick had been. The brick was then pushed back in after it so that no one passing by could tell that it was loose.
