| Hungry and exhausted, Max and Todd decided to stop hunting. Close to the beach, they found a sheltered spot where they pitched their tent and made a fire from twigs to cook their supper. They had travelled far in pursuit of a ferocious man-eating lion.|
The next morning after breakfast, they climbed up a nearby hill. Never had they seen such an enchanting sight! Facing them was a long range of high peaked mountains. To their left, was a thick and distant forest.
In the evening, Max and Todd returned and sat by the fire. They chatted about friends at home and across the sea. Suddenly, they realised that their children would be hanging up their stockings in expectation of Christmas gifts the next day.
"Hey, Todd! Since it's Christmas tomorrow, why don't we take a break?" Max suggested. Todd frowned and shook his head.
"After so many days of tracking, we may lose our prize if we stop here for a day," Todd replied. Max nodded and they made plans for the next day before settling down to sleep.
